moving to new computer
I am getting a new computer and am following the NI procedure for deleting the NI instruments on my old computer. I keep the instrument content on a separate hard drive and deleting the instruments on my main computer does not seem to delete the content on this drive. So now, at least for some of the instruments, they no longer appear on my computer but the content remains on the external drive. Will this be a problem when I reinstall on my new computer? Should I manually delete the content before reinstalling?

You are allowed to have the software installed on three computers at the same time provided that you only use the software on one computer regularly. So as long as you keep the computer then you do not need to remove the software from the old computer.

Storing Libraries on an External Drive for both Mac and Windows
We do not recommend storing your libraries and content on an external drive to be used by both a Mac and Windows computer. It may cause performance issues.
If using Native Instruments software on a Mac and Windows computer, we recommend using separate external drives specifically for each OS.
For best results, your external drive should be formatted the same as your operating system's native format. These are : Windows ; NTFS , Mac OS X 10.12 and earlier ;HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) . macOS 10.13 and later ; Apple File System(APFS)

If we are talking about Libraries, that’s the best thing that can happen to you.
Once you will install Native Access to your new computer, you will be able to use the Locate function to point NA at where those large libraries already are (the external drive) without having to download them and install them again
