Kontakt "Multiprocessor support (AAX plugin)" Settings
I've been having some major problems with Kontakt lately, specifically it running out of cpu (cpu maxing out inside Kontakt not Pro Tools).
After trying everything possible I finally changed the setting "Multiprocessor support (AAX plugin)" from OFF to "16 Cores" and the difference is absolutely wild. Gone from the Kontakt CPU usage being completely obliterated to almost nothing, peaking occasionally at about 10% but for the most part way under.
I've always had this setting off because I've seen everywhere that it was problematic to have it on, perhaps something has changed? I mean, they must have put this setting here for a reason?
Anyone else experienced this?

Hello,
It is not problematic to have Multiprocessor On. It might be problematic if you have it On without real purpose.
It is hard to have one solution for everything. In your case, obviously some huge Kontakt libraries are too heavy, so they need this option. But not all. I use Kontakt with 4 cores and so far it is enough, however i do a "conservative" use and do not load 16 Kontakt instruments on the same project!
It is up to you to find the "perfect balance" for your computer, however always keep in mind that it is best to leave few cores free, for your system to run smoothly its other tasks. You can try a balanced solution (8 cores for Kontakt use) and see how it is going.
