Another NI Library disaster !

All Projects, Groups, Sounds, Instruments, FX, Loops etc are not showing in Maschine 2 or 3.  The Library view in Kontakt 8 is not showing any instruments and presets;  the Libraries are only visible in the 'Classic' side panel view.  No libraries or presets are showing at all in Komplete  Kontrol.

I have tried all the NI ‘solutions’; deleting Users>Library> App Support > NI> Maschine 2 , Maschine 3 , Kontakt 8 db and enabling full folder & disc access but nothing works. After deleting prefs and folders Maschine 2 & 3 go through the rescan process for all the libraries but all libraries, instruments and presets are still missing after rescan.   This has happened before and my only solution was to completely remove all NI products , preferences , folders etc wipe SSD drive and reinstall which took 2-3 days.  Would appreciate a quicker solution if anyone has any suggestions.

Running Mac OS Sequoia 14.7.3 on M1 Pro, all libraries on external SSD. Everything worked fine up until yesterday then it all went down 💩 creek…

Are you by any chance a CleanMyMac user ?

Else also please go through the usual Mac user check list :

Be sure that you are using latest version of Native Access for your OS

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : Howto Enable Full Disk Access on mac OS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats

Also then please check that iCloud Private Relay has been turned off : Native Access Error Message: "Download failed" (macOS)

Also then do not use Clean My Mac.

And quote Kymeia : if using Sequoia then N.I. apps must be added to the Local Network

    Hi

Thanks for your help . Just one mistake I made in the previous post; I'm running Mac OS Sonoma 14.7.3.

I have already tried the solutions you suggested and none of them have worked

There is no 'Local Network' setting in Privacy & Security in Sonoma 14.7.3. I'm not a CleanMyMac user. I have the latest version of Native Access, I set full disk access for NTKDaemon and my SSD was correctly formatted. I had no problem updating Native Access with cloud relay turned on or off.

As I mentioned in the post everything was working fine until yesterday and the Libraries show in the 'Classic' side panel view in Kontakt 8 and Kontakt 7 . The problem is none of the libraries or expansions are showing in in Maschine 2 or 3 and none of the Library presets are showing in Kontakt . Nothing at all is showing in Komplete Kontrol.

Regarding missing libraries in the new Kontakt browser, can you give this a try? My Kontakt library is displayed in Kontakt 7/8 'Classic View' but is missing in 'Default View'

Then try resetting the database of Maschine 2 and 3, like here:

    Reinitialize the Maschine database

    1. Note: The User Library folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden macOS folders.
    2. Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Maschine 2 or Maschine 3 folder.
    3. Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
    4. Reopen the Maschine software to check that the issue has been resolved.

Running Mac OS Sequoia 14.7.3 on M1 Pro, all libraries on external SSD. Everything worked fine up until yesterday then it all went down

Did anything else happened on your computer in this time window? Software update? Os update? Could you have renamed the drive by accident? How are the products showing in Native Access? As installed? To repair?

What is the format of the SSD? It should be APFS, as explained here: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers

Thanks but I've already tried deleting the db / renaming the db and it doesn't work. The Library updates and but there's still no default view . My SSD is formatted to APFS. Last time this happened I deleted Kontakt, Maschine & Komplete Kontrol including all relevant folders in Application Support and all the preferences and then reinstalled everything . I had to download some libraries again, so it was a long and tedious process. I still haven't figured out why this happens. The only update I've done in the last few days is a security system update for Sonoma so maybe thats what broke it . 🤷

Thanks for your help but no email from support yet. I just deleted all versions of Kontakt and also Komplete Kontrol from my drive including the app, app preferences, json files, application support folder etc and then reinstalled Kontakt 8 . I also reinstalled a couple of instrument libraries to see if that would work but I'm still missing all presets from the Library view - see screenshots . Only way to load instruments is from the classic view and then select a preset when the instrument is loaded. Same problem in Komplete Kontrol , there is no preset list : instruments can only be loaded using the File> Open menu. 🤷

Not sure if it has any bearing here but Kontakt gets some of it's info from Native Access so sometimes what is needed is to delete the N.A. XML and more to get N.A. to properly list content to Kontakt.

Thanks PoorFellow but I've already tried deleting Native Access.xml - just deleted it again to make sure but those presets are still missing from Kontakt/ Komplete.

Jeremy NI - no email yet - have checked spam filters , junk

I set full disk access for NTKDaemon

Did you give the full disk access to all of the rest of the N.I. apps too ?

Thanks PoorFellow … All NI apps have full disc access. I think I'm just going to have to delete all apps, prefs, app supports, .json files etc and start from scratch. Will get back to you in a day or two…🙏

Hi Jeremy - I had a backup of my system files on an SSD from a few months ago and replaced/overwrote all the Native Instruments Applications, Preferences, folders & files etc. I was checking throughout the process which of these backups would reset my presets and it turned out to be the User>Library> Application Support> Native Instruments folder. All my presets are now restored in Kontakt, Komplete & Maschine. I just need to update some of the instrument libraries and everything will be kosher.

Obviously, the presets are kept in the User>Library> Application Support> Native Instruments folder . Maybe I accidentally deleted them ? I'll backup my system using Time Machine from now on . Just relieved I can move on and finish that track I was working on 😥
