How do I move plugging to an external hard drive

So im trying to install all of my plugins and I see on the website u can go to preferences and change locations when you click browse. But when I try it doesn't even let me click browse it completely gray. WTFFF do I do this is so annoying. I can't find anyone on YouTube or online who has had the problem so I don't know where to go from here.

Removed the ability to customize VST2 locations on Windows

Apparently then N.I. also removed the ability to customize VST3 path also.

I haven't tried this myself but apparently then you can also use SymLink for Mac (Symlink enables you to have path set at one place and actually have the files at another location)(I can not guarantee if this works flawlessly)

The VST3 path should not be customized. It's a system default location.
