How to disable touch strip on Kontrol S61 Mk3

Hello

The touch strip on my S61 Mk3 sends expression data even when not being touched. I would like to disable the touch strip completely from the keyboard itself. Is this possible?

If not, is there another way to have expression data sent by the S61 Mk3 ignored by plug-ins/DAW (Logic) etc. but received from a different controller?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of a way to disable the touchstrip on the keyboard itself.

But to minimize the interference with your DAW and plugins, you could set it to send a MIDI message you can filter out at the DAW level. Preferably set it to a MIDI Channel and a MIDI CC message you'd never otherwise use.

I'm not familiar with Logic but in some DAWs you can filter out selected MIDI channels or specific CC messages.

So for example, if you edit the MK3 touchstrip configuration to send on channel 16, and then filter out MIDI channel 16.

Or if you can filter out specific MIDI CC message types, you could set the touchstrip to send CC 119 and filter out CC 119 messages in the DAW.

Thanks for your reply. It is appreciated. I did a bit of investigation and found that MIDI CC 3 is not used, so I think if I programme the touch strip to send CC 3 as opposed to CC 11 (expression), the continuous stream will effectively go nowhere.
