Can’t seem to move groups, drag and drop, etc.

I can’t seem to move patterns in the arranger. Cant move groups up or down in arranger. Can’t even move sounds in the group view. Can’t drag and drop sounds into groups either. I’m not sure what is the issue. I also have a red icon when I try to do anything of that nature.

Groups can be moved vertically on the lateral left bar in Song View.

Sounds can’t be dragged to another sound slot.

Uwe303 is correct in saying that you must reach the right position before that red prohibition sign disappear becoming an arrow showing where the dragged item will be moved (indicated with a white line, or, in case of Patterns in Ideas View, coloring the landing position in a different grey, but only on empty slots).

You have 3 ways to change which patterns get played in a Section:

1 By right clicking on the Pattern and choosing Select

2 By changing the Pattern in Ideas View, selecting it from the listed ones

3 By selecting the pattern from the Patterns menu which can be opened using the down arrow next to the Group’s name (the pattern you want to change must be selected in the Song view)

Everything is easier from the hardware controller…even better from the 8x8 grid in the late lamented Maschine Jam, which shows all the patterns accessible at the push of a button

Hello,

you can move sections (not groups) in the arranger up and down the timeline, you just have to drag them into the correct position between 2 other scenes. Same with all the other stuff. You can also right click copy/paste or duplicate then drag and drop, depending on what you want to move or copy.

Correct but you can copy and paste sounds with right click on the software and also from hardware - but no drag and drop in the case of sounds lots/pads.
