Logitech software causing audio issues with maschine & audio in general

im putting this up as a warning to users, who might be considering using software from Logitech.

Logitech of course deals with mouse&keyboard configurations and that kind of thing, i had just recently installed logitech options and noticed glitching & distortion coming through the audio outputs after about 5minutes to 10 minutes.

This not only affects maschine but system wide audio

i would clearly state that my issue arose on the M1macmini i use

now one might think… just uninstall it and she'll be fine… this of course is why im alerting users, who might be considering installing logitech software on their "Mac" system

uninstalling logitech software is not so straight forward, and the result can leave a persistant process that cannot be removed, without some deep knowledge into the mac terminal

needless to say, i upgraded my OS in the hope of this residual pesky background process being overwritten… this was not to be

so as a warning to other mac users considering installing logitech software DONT!!

… now to reinstall wipe this Sequoia and reinstall Ventura… the Joy!! LOL

lucky i have Big Sur 11.2 OS as a dual OS on the same system drive…

always thinking ahead *winx

Logitech have a history of this. On Windows (in the past anyway) it was something relating to UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry entries.

Logitech software on Mac is an afterthought and never works well. G-Hub, Options - you name it.

If it’s just mouse, check SteerMouse, if it’s both mouse and keyboard - then check USB Overdrive.

yes @ steermouse & better mouse and any other alternative is the way to go on Mac…

but avoid logitech software, as much as possible

admittedly i have a very old version of ghub on my windows, which doesnt hinder anything as far as im aware, but it is only for configuring the G600 mouse… it may even configure my logitech steering wheel as well?? not entirely sure

anyway logitechs name is mud in my eyes LOL
