Batch re-save and super slow load time in Kontakt 7

Subject: Issue with Slow Loading Times in Kontakt 7

Hi everyone,

I've been facing a persistent issue with Kontakt 7 for a while now and wanted to reach out to see if any of you have experienced the same problem or found a workaround.

Essentially, any instrument in Kontakt 7 takes an unusually looooong time to load its sample library. I've already tried opening Kontakt in standalone mode and batch re-saving all the libraries multiple times, but the problem persists.

For context:

My libraries are stored on a fast SSD that works perfectly with other VSTs via USB-C.
I'm running Pro Tools 2024.10 and Kontakt 7.10.7 on an M2 Mac Studio Ultra.
This issue has made me use Kontakt less frequently, which is frustrating given its potential.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Shamir, what's the format of your external hard drive? On Mac it should be APFS, as explained in this article: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers

Is the slow loading time only in Pro Tools or also in Kontakt in standalone?
