Controlling Tempo in Kontact 8
Hi everyone. Duke here. I'm very new to the Native Instruments world and recently purchased a Kontrol S61 Mk3 and Komplete 15 CE. I've been mucking about with music on and off for years but have recently got more into it as a hobby.
I've been playing with Kontact 8 and have a question about setting Tempo. I'll use Abbey Road 60s Drummer as an example. When I open up grooves they are labelled with a BPM, but play using the master tempo. In other instruments, the preview is in the sample's tempo, and then opens in the instrument in the master tempo. This threw me at first! It then took me quite a while to find where the master tempo was set. So my question is in two parts:
- Is there a way to set up Kontact so that any sample I open plays in it's native tempo. I think the answer here is "no" - but 'shy bairns get nowt' as my grandmother would have said :)
- Is there an easier way of setting the master tempo than the way I found which is to switch to Classic View, set it in the Master Editor, and then switch back to Default View?
I appreciate the default behaviour is to sync with the DAW project tempo, which makes total sense, but as I'm sketching out ideas I may not have decided on a tempo, so I've searched for other threads on Tempo and they don't quite answer these questions, but new in these parts, so apologies if this has been covered elsewhere.
Thanks for any help, and great to be a part of this community
