Maschine Plus, Sampling from external device or phone is not working.

Hello, I have been using maschine for years and never had this problem, and I am having trouble figuring it out. I have been through countless youtube videos and other research and am coming up with nothing. I am using Maschine+ currently but my Maschine MK3 is doing the same thing. Problem is in the sampler. I can't record audio in the sampler from an external device. I have never had this problem and it's killing me. Help please, I have the Apollo Twin, the Scarlet 2i2, and the built in interface on the maschine, tried all 3 and nothing is working.

    did you check/replace your cables? If it’s both m+ and mk3 I suspect it’s somewhere outside of the Maschine (assuming you use the M+ standalone)

    Sounds trivial, but… did you select the correct input source for sampling?

    Oh, and if yes, can you monitor the input?
