Kontrol S49 MK3 -> keys not working (knobs work properly)

I reseted the S49, I updated it to the lastest firmware, I use a USB 3 hub. Nothing helped. I have got a MacBook Pro with a M2 processor. Here my exact description of the problem:

I can load everything on the MK3, for instance "Analog Dreams" and rifle thru the presents and sounds and change the paramaters via knobs on the MK3. But when I press on the keys it doesn't play anything. just silence. The little keyboard at the bottom of the standalone Kontakt screen doesn't show the keys getting pressed down. I can press the little keyboard in Kontakt with my mouse however and it shows the lights above my MK3 keys flash so signal is getting thru.

Anybody knows some solution?

Thanks a lot!

If you mean the samples that accompany the various presets, those are simply audio files, not MIDI. You likely have something not configured correctly in the Kontakt or Komplete Kontrol MIDI and/or audio interface configurations incorrect.

Thanks for your answer but this does not solve my problem. The eys from Kontrol S49 MK II are not working although everything ist set up properly. All NI Software react properly on input from other keyboards but not from Kontroll S49 MKII. This is very strange, since it worked properly until about a moth ago. macOX and Logic X are up to date as well. I do not know, what I can co next to solve that issue.

Firmware update was made as well and I flipped beteen midi 1.0 and 2.0. Both not changing anything. Keybed works, if I disconnect usb and use din midi to play another hardwsre synth. Somehow the issue must have to do with usb. But with usb, i tried all possibilities as well (connecting via hub, directly connecting to mac etc.)

If you are in MIDI 2 mode did you follow the instructions to also change the settings in the MacOs Audio-MIDI MIDI Studio app over to MIDI 2?

tbh I tried MIDI 2 but it's too flaky (esp in Logic) so went back to MIDI 1 - which then means going through the reverse process in the MIDI Studio app. If you didn't do that it will cause these sort of problems

    to Kymeiy:

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I changed back to midi 1.0 in OS-Midi-Setup as well as in the s49. I did that several times. Unfortunately it did not help.

OK thanks, is this a problem in all DAWS and all software instruments?

If you open a DAW MIDI settings what inputs can you see and which are you using? (maybe screenshot one?)

Thank you Kymeia: midi 2.0 was still active in Logic. Obviously, this caused the issue. I hecked this again with the article (your link) and now, with misi 1.0 in Logic and s49 mk3, it finally works well.

Thank you, and all of you, again for your help!
