Some keys don't react on my brand new KK S61 mk3

I have just bought my new Komplete Kontrol S61 mk3 keyboard. I have managed to update the firmware, it has had a pretty old one, 0.8.3 if I can recall well. The problem is that several keys don't work on the keyboard, they don't generate any midi events. It has been checked with the Midi Monitor application. So I can play instruments, but several sounds will be missing, if I play on the keyboard.

I have checked the login items, AMS (Audio Midi Setup) as well, Komplete Kontrol has full disk access, Hardware Connection Service has been installed, everything seems to be OK on software side… it seems to be a hardware failure.

Any idea?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which keys are not working? Is there a pattern to the failures like adjacent keys, all black etc, or random keys? Are you certain you don't have the keyboard in one of the scale modes?

If certain keys on your Komplete Kontrol S61 mk3 are unresponsive despite updating the firmware and verifying software settings, it likely points to a hardware issue. First, try resetting the keyboard to factory settings and test it with another computer or DAW to rule out software conflicts. If the issue persists, contact Native Instruments support for a potential replacement or repair under warranty, as this behavior is not typical for a brand-new device.

Always the same ones, for instance G#3, A3, A#3, and several other keys. No, I don't use scales at all.

Thanks, I will contact the shop I have bought it. Reset didn't help. I definitely need a replacement unit.

You don’t have Scale switched on, per chance? If not, than it’s most likely HW problem.

Sounds like hardware if they're adjacent keys so probably best to get a replacement
