Is it possible to connect maschine mk3 too maschine plus standalone

I’m creating a dawless setup for live performance with the Maschine plus

has anyone had any experience using linked them together in this way

(Either Via Link or MIDI or USB as a preference ):

2x Maschine Plus

2x Maschine Mk3

Z2 or Z1 Mixer or similar.

For crossfade between the two Maschines :

Any ideas ?

Thanks

You can connect the audio out of one into audio in on the other.

I personally use two grooveboxes, both going into a mixer, set the BPMs to the same value and mix between the two in realtime. I use manual syncing since I have bad experiences trying to rely on MIDI sync when used like this. DJ mixers are quite nice for juggling two stereo line inputs with eq (and fx if the mixer supports them), but any line level mixer will do for this as long as it has headphone cue

When one groovebox is playing, the other is loading the next project in and so on. Sort of like using two turntables, except the projects are the "records". Also gives you redundancy in case either groovebox crashes 😅

just thinking about extending banks B onwards for larger sets with more samples or groups .

The switch bank button is tricky too get too when you are finger drumming or have a live sequence running it involves 3 buttons being press at the same-time when Hold is off and I use my Komplete Kontrol to do this at the moment but it works differently than using the pads too launch the sequences and scenes .

There should be a update for this soon one would think .

No, it's not possible. MK3 needs drivers, controller editor, etc… Theres none of that on the M+ so you won't even get MIDI Mode out of it let alone dedicated control. Even if MIDI Mode was possible things like bank switching are not MIDI mapable.

If using a computer for the MK3 then it's possible, you then use LINK and maybe send the Audio Outs from it to the M+ Standalone.

On MacOS you can even duplicate the Maschine app, change the name of the dupe, have the M+ in controller mode focused on one app and the MK3 on the duplicate.

You could use an external MIDI controller (like, launchpad mini or the like) for controlling your M+ lock states. You could then change the sounds in your current group via lock state changes, however this would also mean that your group needs to have several layers of sounds, you'd then fade these sounds in and out with the locks. Boris does something similar in the "How to use everything.. part 3" -video..

Cannot do this on NI controllers though, as they need drivers I think..
