Selling MKii GC edition hardware

hi folks,

Received an email from NI stating that if I sell my MKii hardware, I’d retain all my upgrades, including maschine. That would mean upgrading to machine 3 software would be possible. But I’m skeptical somewhat. Never got the most out of it when I used it and I need to sell what I can. Trouble is, my journey with native instruments started with this purchase. I’m now upgraded to the latest but wanted to double check that is the correct information I’m being fed. I’ve invested a lot of money via upgrades - so much so, I’d likely have funded a different form of controller by now. But I’m needing to shift some items from the studio anyway. So anyone with any more info on the matter, I’d be glad to hear this is indeed correct.

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times but I need money to fund other areas of my life right now after unforeseen events. Thanks for your answers

@PermanentConfusion I can cofirm what my colleagues told you. You can keep the Maschine 2 software and you can safely update to Maschine 3, you only have to transfer the serial for the hardware.

so I’m thinking about an upgrade on the maschine in question. I’ve already got komplete 15 standard so paying full price is… a little awkward. Do I have to buy a second hand device first, before selling the mkii? Or… do i sell the standard license and buy a bundle with the maschine iii? Or do I simply go for a maschine mkiii second hand and not worry about the order of things? What if the previous owner has already bought second hand? Is there a step by step process where I know I’ll be able to register the hardware if I go down that route?
