Kontakt keeps scanning external drive

Hi all, every time I move from one Kontakt 7 instance to another I can hear my external drive being scanned, so takes 10+ seconds to switch from one track to another. The external drive (not SSD) has no Studio One or Kontakt resources on it so seems to make no sense? I have an SSD drive attached which doesnt cause any lag that I can see.

Is there a setting somewhere I can stop this drive being scanned or a workaround? (apart from disconnecting the drive, which of course I'd prefer not to if there;s a setting

Im on Studio One, Mac Studio M1, 64G ram. Any help appreciated
