Can keyboard mapping be done in Kontakt 8 player?
I am trying to split my keyboard for live performance with a multi I created with 4 different percussion instruments. The multi works fine but I want to reassign different ranges of a 5 octave Mallet Kat in order to play timpani, chimes, vibes and bells without needing to switch instruments. I see videos explaining the process and understand how it is done in the full version of Kontakt. I do not think it is possible to do this kind of a keyboard split in the free player version but wanted to ask the community before I buy the full version of Kontakt.

Load your 4 instruments into 4 separate Kontakt "instruments", all set to the same channel. MIDI Transpose each "instrument" to where you want to play it. Limit its range if necessary. You can do all this in Instrument Options>Instrument (gear wheel top left of instrument panel.)
Kontakt (5) will allow you to transpose only 2 octaves either way. If this isn't enough, the instrument itself may have a Transpose function. If not, you could use a simple multiscript, with each instrument set to a different channel.
