HELP! Strummed Acoustic not playing in DAW
Hi,
I'll try to explain this briefly. First of all it's not a Kontakt Player (KP)- version issue. I had the KP 7 when this first occured. Therefor intalled KP 6. Same problem. Have now installed KP 8 and reinstalled Session Guitarist Strummed Acoustic and it works perfect in standalone mode.
The problem occurs when I'm in my DAW which is what I can't understand. Kontakt Player works fine. The other installed softwares in it works fine. Even in Strummed Acoustic, the function keys and even the "sound effect keys sounds" (fret noises and such) sounds as the should. The midi information goes into the software, the keys light up and the strumming patterns are highlithed.
BUT… There is no sound 😪
As I said, if I change the "instrument" in the KP it works and even the effect sounds in Strummed Acoustic plays. But not the main thing: the guitarstrumming sounds/patterns. My first tgought was of course that some path is wrong so it can't find the sound samples, but 1. There's no message about it and 2. It works fine in KP standalone mode. What the h..l can the problem be, I'm going crazy.
As I said, I have un installed both Kontakt Player and Strummed Acoustic completely and then installed it again from scratch and ethe standalone worked right away but in the DAW the problem is there… I have Cubase 12 and it has worked before without issues.
I hope someone knows a solution, Best regards
Micke

This might be the solution for me…. My DAW was set to a low tempo (62 mom ). Too low for certain patterns to play. I selected 'X2' in the Playback page … and 'hey presto' … literally :-)

That's a weird one.
When in Cubase, if you load Strummed Acoustic and play notes on the blue onscreen keyboard, do you get sound?
If you do, it might be a MIDI issue, then this would help: Configuring your MIDI Keyboard / Controller in Kontakt

Hi,
Thanks, but it's definitely not a MIDI issue. You can see that the information gets into the dictate as it should and also the function keys are working (and the fret noise, muted stroke effect and such (red or yellow keys if I remember correctly) even delivers sounds. It's just the blue keys (all the main strumming samples) that doesn't deliver any sound. Doesn't matter if I use my keyboard or press a key at the virtual keyboard on screen.
As I said, my thought is that it must be some of error in the path from the software to the location on the computer to the actual samples but it's so weird that it works in stand alone mode then, right?

Please select classic view in K8 when in Cubase, when you play the notes, do you "see" the sound here?
Do you see any red square below "purge" ?
If you see the sound but can't hear it, there could be an issue with the audio routing, select Outputs:
Select Reset output section like here:
Did that fix it? If not, what's your operating system?

I have a similar issue…. In Protools running on an iMac, within both Kontakt 7 and 5 within the DAW.
Some patterns work, others ,not. Midi is being received but no audio output apparent in the meters within Kontakt. Like you, I completely reinstalled…. to no avail.
Did you find a solution?

Hi Glenn,
Thanks for the input and suggestions. Alright! You might be on to something. I know that the song where this problem occured has a tempo of 58 bpm so maybe that's the issue then. I will check it out as soon as possible.
Best Micke
