Battery 4 not showing in Cubase

Hi. I'm new here and quite a noob in music production.

I use Cubase 13 and I downloaded the DEMO version of Battery 4, but I can only open it in stand alone mode. When I try to open it as an instrument in my DAW, it is not there as an option. It is installed in the same file directory as the other NI instruments.

Also, I own Komplete Select 14 and, even before downloading Battery DEMO, when I open Komplete Kontrol software, it shows the kits for Battery that I do not own, so it messes a bit with the preset auditioning. I was thinking about talking about it with NI, but as now I'm considering getting the new Komplete Select 15 Beats, which comes with Battery 4, then I guess this little problem with Battery's presets on KK would be solved as I would own them in this case.

Actually this is why I downloaded the Battery 4 DEMO, to test it before acutally buying the KS15 Beats. The problem is that I can't test it in my DAW (Cubase).

Could it be because the DEMO version only works in stand alone mode? Or am I missing something here?

Thank you!

    Are you on mac?

I don't have the demo so can't check, but it's possible that the demo is VST2 and Cubase is only allowing VST3 plugins. So it wouldn't display in that instance.

The full version of Battery went VST3 last year, maybe someone can confirm if the demo was updated to be VST3 too?

    Hi there.

    I'm on PC.
I actually got in touch with NI about this and they just suggested me to reinstall it. I did, but the situation keeps the same.
I can open the standalone, and I noticed I can even open it inside komplete kontrol in my DAW. However it doesn't show in my vst instruments rack in my DAW, so I can not open it as a regular instrument. I wonder if this is because it is DEMO, or even being DEMO it should open as an instrument?

Regarding the VST2/VST3 thing, if I remmebr correctly, when installing it gave the option to install vst3 and/or vst2. Besides, Cubase does allow and shows some other VST2 instruments and effects, so I don't think that's the issue. And battery is also not in the Cubase's plugin blocklist.

My concern is that when I actually buy it, it will keep not being able to be opened as a regular instrument.

BTW, in this pic attached , there's this saying pointed witht he yellow arrows. However, I showed it to NI support team but they didn't comment on that… they just told me to reinstall it.

Updating the last response from NI:

" Ok, you might be right, because it is only the DEMO it does not install the VST version, you can test it in standalone only.

I'm sure once you have the license it all be good. If not, here we are to solve the issue.

    Best regards, "

    So…
