Art Vista Orchestra Intonation System
Art Vista has released the world's first automatic MIDI orchestra intonation system. This patented technology allows MIDI orchestras to leave the fixed-tuning world of Equal Temperament, and enter the world of real-life orchestra intonation, where consonant intervals harmonize and lead-in tones have a melodic direction. The system also provides a scalable orchestra stretch that subtly stretches the instrument intonations upwards and downwards just like in a real orchestra performance.
The intonation system comes with a free copy of "Art Vista Back Beat Bass - Kontakt Edition" (Value $99.00.)

Always interested in improving realism in real ensemble music. A few q.
I think I can see how your "intonator" would work in post-production, but if it's playing in real time, how does it identify a "leading tone" and which way it's leading when maybe the musician himself hasn't yet decided? What sort of information is it basing its decisions on?
The Kontakt factory microtuning script will give you a variety of temperaments in the key of your choice. I guess your "harmonic" mode could make the corrections made necessary by your "melodic" detuning, but what other benefit would it have over the standard script?
Any reason why it wouldn't work with Kontakt 5? Is it just that it hasn't been tried?
I use Bidule as my host, it's pretty flexible and transparent, you join things together with wires. Any reason I couldn't incorporate your VST3 in a layout?
The effects are pretty subtle, might it be helpful to have one or two "before and after" demos, including stretched octave tuning?

Hello Stephen, and thanks for posting! I didn't see this post until right now. I don't think I was notified about your reply.. so apologies for the delay.
The Art Vista Intonator VST3 continuously monitors the MIDI stream and interprets what's going on. Based on the incoming stream it determines intonations through proprietary patented algorithms.
This technology has absolutely nothing in common with Kontakt factory microtuning script employment. I would rather characterize it as making the same intonation choices an orchestra musician would do playing with other musicians.
It may work with Kontakt 5, I don't remember a specific reason why not. However, the system comes with pre-made templates for different DAWs and Kontakt 6 and Kontakt 7, but not for Kontakt 5, which means the user would have to replace the instance of Kontakt 6/7 and load Kontakt 5, and also re-do the routing to the Kontakt 5 instance.
It is possible that it would work with Bidule. I am unfamiliar with this DAW. If it would be possible depends on Bidule's MIDI routing capabilities. It looks promising, but I would need to test it, and the routing is a little bit more advanced that you would typically do because of the MIDI routing to and from the Art Vista Intonator VST3 which sits on its own track to be able to centrally process all incoming note data.
We hope to be able to expand the range of demos in the future.

As I said I'm interested (and have a pretty good understanding of how real musicians play) and you really haven't made it clear to me exactly what your software actually does. Maybe some examples of "what's going on" would be helpful.

I don't want to provide a road map for future competitors to try and create a competing product as there today is no other software capable of what this system does. For the best description of what the system does, plese visit
. You can also download the manual for further information. There is a link on the product page.Best,
