Kontakt 8 missing from Komplete 15 Collectors Edition install

Sorry if this is a repeat question. I did search these forums and found several Kontakt 8 articles, but I didn't see one that answered this question. With those other articles I was able to locate the relevant files on another Windows 10 laptop install and copy them over to this desktop, but when trying to run Kontakt 8 in either stand alone or as a plugin it tells me I need to activate, buy, or run it in demo mode even though I've already added CE15's serial # to Native Access. Yes, this is the most current version of NA (newly downloaded and installed just to be sure), v3.14.0 (4250839 / 1.21.0.0).

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks, but it's no longer an issue. That was the Win10 PC that was being retired in favor of the new Mac Studio, and now that the replacement S88 is working I no longer need that PC.

So far, so good, except for having to completely remove/reinstall Komplete 15 UC due to some odd permissions issue preventing any of my libraries/instruments from showing up in any version of Kontakt (6, 7, OR 8). That's about half way done now so time will tell, but I'm hopeful I'll soon have a fully working studio again.

This Mac transition has been a real PITA, but rather than have an expensive, square, silver boat anchor sitting next to my rack gear, I'm determined to get it all working.

You cannot copy files from one machine to another.

Native Access must be installed on every machine and all products downloaded and activate using it on each machine.

    Ok, understood, but….

The root problem is that it hasn't been installed with my Komplete 15 Collectors Edition.

I did find another article to do with missing or corrupted activation tokens, so I'll research it from that angle.

Oh…and Native access is installed on that computer, as shown in the screen shot compilation.

Nope, still won't install Kontakt 8 even after following the steps in this article, specifically step 2 under Windows.

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402377887121-My-Products-Are-Showing-As-DEMO-in-Native-Access

You can see I have Kithara installed, which REQUIRES Kontakt 8, but Kontakt 8 not showing as installed. As demonstrated in my initial post, Kontakt 8 WILL RUN on this PC, so it's not a compatibility issue (exe and vst3 copied from another PC as a test only) .

Any suggestions on getting Kontakt 8 to INSTALL on this PC will be greatly appreciated.

Finally got Kontakt 8 installed and working on PC2. I did so by opting to do a "reinstall" of it on PC1, copied the downloaded .ZIP file to PC2, and running the contained .EXE. First run of the stand alone version gave me the "Demo, Buy, Activate" popup dialogue, so I selected "Activate". It took me to my NI Products & Serials page, but of course there ISN'T a serial for the full Kontakt 8 since it's part of my Komplete 15 Collectors Edition.

That said, subsequent launches of the stand alone AND the VST3 version started in "FULL" mode, so for the time being that issue is solved. What's NOT resolved is that it STILL doesn't show in the list of available components within Native Access (which is the latest version).

I'm burned out on trouble shooting NI issues for the weekend (considering all the S88 MK3 stuff along with this one), so I'll just leave it alone for now.

Leaving the issue open since I still want to get it to show up properly in Native Access in case I need to reinstall for some reason.

    Hi EJ James ,

I did a follow up on the issues that you have had and found that nobody answered you further here. I could try and ask forum Customer Care to stop by (separate from support) but since I know that for more advanced trouble shooting and since that I have nothing to add of my own then sorry but I can only suggest that you ask you to please contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support . I completely understand the "burned out on trouble shooting NI issues" but alas then it is all that I have to offer.

You might already know all of this but just in case I will give the links to the usual N.I. Mac must do :

ALL NI apps including NTKDaemon must have full disk access. : How to Enable Full Disk Access on mac OS and disks must be of correct format : Notes on Network Drives and Disk Formats. Also then please check that iCloudPrivate Relay has been turned off : Native Access Error Message: "Download failed" (mac OS)

Compatibility of Native Instruments Products on macOS

I hope that you get it all to work soon 🙂

Yeh, I've been through all of those at least a half dozen times, except for the "download failed" link. I only encountered that once or twice and just restarted NA and it cleared the problem. Thanks though.

Luckily I think I've got everything working, FINALLY! All of my NI software is installed and functioning along with the S88. And everything loads the way it should in both Cubase and Reaper. The errors I was getting with the first S88 are completely gone, so again I'm convinced that was simply a defective unit. Aren't I the lucky one? =)

Now, with a little more luck, I'll be able to set this new studio setup on its maiden voyage this week. It's been 6 weeks since I upgraded to the Mac Studio, and 5 weeks since the first S88 was delivered, and I haven't been able to get much done due to all the trouble shooting and technical issues. Needless to say, I'm pretty happy with everything right now.

Thanks to you and everyone else who threw their suggestions into the hat. All of it combined contributed to the final solution. A bit here, a piece there…got me up and running.

Great that you managed to get things to work , I think that we are all just glad that it all worked out 😀

You could be right , on the other hand then I don't know if something changed in the keyboards between the first unit that you had and the second one , hardware or firmware wise something could have changed. 🤔 With digital electronics it sometimes only takes one bit wrong before that it doesn't work so small alterations to electronics or software can have a big impact.
