Strange loop behavior in Traktor Pro 4

Hi

Since I started using Traktor Pro 4, I’ve noticed strange loop behavior with certain tracks. These are tracks that don’t start immediately with a beat but have some kind of intro. On most of these tracks, it’s not possible to create a loop at the very beginning because if there’s even a small piece of silence before the first beat, Traktor 4 won’t activate the loop. I compared the same track in Traktor 3, and there the program, first of all, sets the cue on the nearest downbeat on the grid and activates the loop. I’m using the “load, loop, and play” option, and it’s quite frustrating. Even manually, it’s not possible to create a loop until you reach the first beat on the grid. Here’s a video of this comparison:

Seem like both grids are the same, but on tp3 you start out on the first beat.

Do you have a load marker set? And did you active "initially cue to load marker" on both versions?

I'm not familiar with the “load, loop, and play” option. Is that build into traktor or is that a mapping?

Yes, the grids are identical, but you can see that in T3, after loading a track, it’s immediately set to the first beat, while in T4, it’s before that. In T3, even when the track is moved to the very beginning, where the red playback line is set, it still marks the loop from the nearest beat. In T4, I have to manually reach that point. "Initially cut to load marker" is enabled in both versions. The “load, loop, and play” option is available through mapping, but it doesn’t matter because even manually, the loop cannot be activated from the point where the track is loaded.

I'm not aware there is a setting in Traktor, 3 or 4, that auto loads the deck to the first beat. Only to first "load marker".

My guess is that you have a mapping in tp3 that loads a track and jumps to first / next beat.

Or you do have a load marker and that is somehow broken in tp4? If there is a setting for "load track to first beat" please let me know :)

I’ve never used load markers because I didn’t need them, and I still don’t want to use them. I just want it to work in T4 the same way it does in T3, because for me, it’s not functioning correctly. The mapping doesn’t matter in this case, because I recorded the video directly on the laptop, without any controllers connected. My friends have the same issue, so I don’t think it’s a matter of settings, but rather some kind of bug in the program.

Ok. On tp3, when you load a track does it always load on the first beat? Or does activating the loop jump to the first beat?

Honestly, I never paid attention to it because it worked as it should. For the past two months, I've been playing with the T4, and right from the start, I noticed that something was off. I'll try to dedicate more time to it later and check it with more tracks in T3 to see if it always loads the track from the first beat.
