hello I am on a Mac M2 ultra and I want to update my Kontrol S88 Mk3 on the KSMK3 updater, but the application does not want to update my keyboard and gives me this message "An error occured while updating your KONTROL S MK3 (error -2). Please Disconnect the KONTROL S MK3, underpower it and quit the KSMK3 Updater. Then reconnect the KONTROL S MK3, restart KSMK3 Updater and try performing the update again."

I have the same error, and am now wanting to return the device. Seeing how many people are having this issue from the initial installation process is super disheartening.

    1. USB-C Connectivity Issue:

    Problem:
Some computer chipsets made between 2020 and 2023 have a known  USB-C error that can't be fixed. This can cause sporadic problems with USB-C peripherals like the Kontrol S MK3, including connection failures, freezing, or issues with firmware updates.

    Solution:
If you experience these issues, try using a USB-C hub between your Kontrol S MK3 and your computer. This can help avoid the problem and ensure a stable connection. This is critically important during firmware updates, as data loss could cause broken firmware. Make sure the hub supports both power and data transfer.

    2. USB Controller Issue:

    Problem:
Even with a USB-C hub, you might occasionally see errors during firmware updates (error -2). This can happen if the USB Controller is overloaded, especially if other devices are connected and transferring data during the update.

    Solution:
To fix this, power your keyboard using a wall charger, unplug any other USB devices from your computer, and then try the firmware update again.

@Matthew_NI NI should mention that BEFORE M2 Chip users crash several firmware updates, wait 9 hours for the firmware to complete in vain, and restart their computer without any other peripherals 10x. I ordered the USB C hub and will keep you posted here. BTW, the speed of reply of the support team is unacceptable with products of this price and complexity. Huge flux of sales during the holidays is not the consumer's problem.
