Hi,

I have Kontakt 8 and when I selected Timbales for track 1 and it read Midi Ch A 1 but when I selected Persian Ney for track 2, track 1 changed to "A 1+ Groups" . So when I record track 2, track 1 will also record. How do I get rid of groups+ ?

Thank you

Bmac

You can't fix it. You'll have to put the affected instrument in a separate instance of Kontakt.

The bug is the +Groups (1 above). The absence of a spanner is deliberate on the part of Kontakt (2), and prevents you from going into Edit mode to do the workaround.

    Maybe Jeremy can help.

I have found this linked in other similar threads:

Does that work for you too?

This is not a new issue. Look at the top of the first Kontakt page in this forum, Kontakt plays every loaded instrument at the same time. There is a suggested workaround using the Kontakt Editor, but no fix for the Kontakt bug which has caused it. And in this case you can't do the workaround because Kontakt factory library 2 is locked for editing.

We were given some spiel that this locking is because of some new secret GUI SDK. It's not now secret so this obviously no longer holds water. So Jeremy there are 2 useful things you could do.

    1. Get the guys to fix this weird bug, which corrupts the Group Channel settings on loading instruments.
    2. Get them to unlock the instruments to editing, or find out for us a credible reason why this can't be done.

    stephen24,

Thank you very much for this info, but for some reason it does not work with some of the Kontakt 8 instruments, because it does not have a wrench symbol like the other instruments. Is this the bug you refer to above?

Who can we talk to about this?

    Once again thank you.

Thank you for the feedback on this issue Stephen24. Jeremy was my first response to my question and the Electric Sunburst does not have a spanner. 😫
