Problem with s4 mk2 and Ipad connection

Hi all,

I'm one of the rare people that has used Traktor S4 MK 2 + ipad + Traktor Dj since it came out.

The set up has worked for years in a club enviroment, but the last 2 weeks I'm getting a lag between the ipad & controller (making it difficult to Dj in the club). My initial thought is that it's a faulty usb connector. I purchased a usb extender adapter and 'duck taped' it in - so there isn't much movement there (I can see). I've changed the lead from ipad to controller too. Thing is everything works perfectly when I test it at home (low volume). As soon as I use it in a club with loud music I start to get the lag again. Could it be the usb connector & vibrations? I know that sounds crazy but I cant think of what else it could be… Could something else have broken internally?
