Looking for advice

I am brand new to MIDI, etc.

I have a keyboard with MIDI. I want to be able to play sampled instruments live.

What application(s) should I look at and which instruments can I use? I don't want to do anything else. Just play the sampled instruments.

Get Kontakt 8 (but please check system and OS requirements , right side of page bottom, prior to buying).

which instruments can I use?

Whichever you buy or get that is compatible with Kontakt 8 , there exists both free and paid Kontakt instruments , but please notice that unlicensed Kontakt libraries require the paid full version of Kontakt.

From N.I. the best deal is getting the Komplete Standard 15 bundle or one of the other higher tier Komplete 15 bundles (Standard or better which comes with the full version of Kontakt 8) which will give you a lot of instruments at a nice price , instead of buying Kontakt 8 alone which 'only' comes with the 'Factory Library' , though then the only part now says to also consists of 900 'individual instruments' and Conflux and 12 brand-new Leap Expansions and the much-loved Hybrid Keys from the Play Series.
