Why are Kontakt 8 specific libraries not loading in Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6?

I’m struggling to understand why libraries like Conflux, Kithara and Porphrya will not load from the Komplete Kontrol 2.9.6 browser and give a “plugin not found” error message, when Kontakt 8 does load both from the plugins menu and the browser if loading a pre K8 library and “use latest version” is checked in KK options?

The only reasons I can think of are:

1. They use an incompatible graphics engine - but that should not lead to a plugin not found error
2. NI have locked them out of KK 2.9.6 for some other reason so there is some sort of KK version checking going on?

Just trying to understand this further. All 3 libraries do load in KK 2.9.6 and don't seem buggy if you load them from inside Kontakt 8. So they are just not loading from the KK 2 browser.

I guess this rules out the graphics incompatibility hypothesis - also the fact that Porphrya is affected does, as I know from speaking to the dev this does not use the new Kontakt graphics framework as it is a third party instrument.

Also as Porphrya is not a NI library I assume the developers did not deliberately lock it out of KK 2x so maybe this is a version check issue but why?
