I am a Logic Pro user and I heard that when you activate the chord triggers, the actual chords get played in to the DAW. I am using Kontakt 8 player.

I'm confused, is it a question? Could you formulate what you want to know exactly? Kontakt 8 Player is free by the way so you should be able to try it out.

When I activate chord triggers in Logic Pro, do the chords play back exactly as I hear them, or will there be any discrepancies in the recording?

Well, the MIDI you record is what you play. If you play back the same Kontakt track, you will then hear the chords played back exactly. This will only work for this Kontakt track, if you use the same MIDI track on another instrument you will only get the notes you initially played. It's a limitation of the AU format, there are workarounds though.

I hope that it answers your question.

I think @Jeremy_NI may be confusing the Logic chord triggers (Which is part of the DAW) with the inbuilt Kontakt ones?

If you're using the Logic chord triggers, then yes that gets sent to the instrument on that track, so Kontakt will receive those chords. There shouldn't be any discrepancies in the recording.

The only thing you have to be careful about is if the chord triggers are causing lower octave notes to trigger as this could affect articulations/switches in some instruments. Or if there's some kind of arp on the preset you're using it won't play the sustained chord but a sequence of notes around that chord.

Ah sorry if I misunderstood. Thank you @Skijumptoes for pointing this out! The new Kontakt 8 has a chord and phrase tools. @Firewave Can you clarify?
