S4 Mk3 - turntable mode

I have different tensions/torque between the two jog wheels on my S4 when in turntable mode. My left jog wheel has high torque (difficult to drag back) whereas my right jog wheel is too loose (but easier to scratch with). I know how to use the jog button combined with the jog wheel to increase/decrease torque. Is there similar function available with turntable mode torque?

Is this a new issue? The platters use touch sensing to decrease the torque when you are touching the silver surface (as opposed to the rim of the platter). Is it possible that your left platter isn't registering touch? Try cleaning it off.

Both platters are clean…but I will have a go at cleaning further. Thank you for the idea. I have never used another S4 but it seems to me that the left is too tight, and the right platter too loose. Both feel the same when used in jog mode and also when, in turntable mode, I contact the edge, they feel the same also. So that kinda supports your idea. But the resistance on the left platters is still much less than when contacting the edge.

Cancel that last sentence. Doesn’t make sense.

From your description the side touch in TT mode is working correctly. Is the track stopping when you touch the top? If it isn't then the touch is not working to stop (dirty or defective is my guess).
