Presets browsing.

Hello, I have a typical use case - a Kontakt library with a lot of presets in individual nki files and I'm trying to find the one that I like.

There are few ways how to browse them, but non of them seems to be ideal:

1. Rack view - Libraries menu - no keyboard support, no preview, have to click on every nki manually, takes some time to load, no full kontakt libraries

2. Rack view - Files menu - keyboard works, can use arrows and load by Enter, but it still takes some time to load, there is an Audiotion strip with Play/Auto buttons, but doesn't work for nki files, and also I need to browse the file system manually

3. Quick view - keyboard works (only sometimes), but focus is lost after selecting a file, no audition, takes time to load, limited to its own directory structure

4. Arrows directly in the instrument window - no keyboard support, can only move to the previous/next library, still need to wait for loading, but at least i can click and check without moving a mouse

5. Library view - no keyboard support, audition on click works without loading full library (so Kontakt supports this, but only here!!!), files from subdirectories are mixed together and there is no clear way to browse a directory structure, full kontakt libraries need to be explicitly imported

Currently I'm using a combination of this all, but it's far from perfect and sometimes quite annoying. Is there any better way?

My preferred solution would be - rack view Libraries menu with a keyboard support (as in Files menu) , audition preview (as in library view) and with support for full Kontakt libraries (as in Files menu). Do I want too much?

I use Instrument Bank. When i want to prelisten a lot of NKIs, i load them into an Instrument Bank (up to 128 presets). Of course, it needs some time, but then you can play them instantly (and select presets with midi pc).

    I agree with @Dreamliner

this is a part of behavior which blocks me from paying for Komplete 15. UI and UX with Kontakt is totally different to other developers, so I stick with the others.

i agree, so many ways to browse presets but all are flawed. there is no ideal solution. its great that ni have decided to include the side browser again but its pretty useless without the tags to filter brand/type/etc

here are my suggestions for ni to improve it

    1. add the tags to the side browser
    2. filter out user libraries from paid libraries in side browser, currently all of my user libraries show up but i still have to click the person icon to show user presets and keep toggling between the 2
    3. add a previous/next preset button to speed up browsing
    4. one click loads presets, just like how maschine works and how massive x used to work. double clicking every preset is a tedious job

also, its a real pain that we have to first select classic view to open or create up an instrument. previously in k7 i would just click the box in the top left corner of each instrument to open it and get under the hood. now i have to first go to the menu and change to classic view and keep switching back between the 2 views. now when i click the top right box, i get instrument options instead of the edit view. please fix this ni
