Questions on Kontakt 7 & Some feedback

After a few weeks of playing around, and generally liking Kontakt 7, I have found some things I can't figure out, especially since the manual is very out of date.

  1. I find it really annoying not to have complete control over the directory into which Kontakt 7 saves User Snapshots! After HOURS of trying to understand what it was doing and finding that it was not installing them in the "Kontakt" sub-directory of User Content, I completely uninstalled and then reinstalled Kontakt 7 and all my Libraries (at least the NI licensed ones so far). Voila, after the Kontakt sub-directory was created, it FINALLY began saving them. there, which acceptably organized them! But wait! I purchased Lunaris 2, and saved a Snapshot, and it went back to using User Content, and NOT the Kontakt sub-directory!!!! Further, I am unable to change this behavior!
Is there a way to control this? Why is this one Library operating in a non-standard way?
  2. I have spent HOURS also attempting to understand the way Library/Instrument directory structures need to be setup, and learned all about how to do this, after learning that you cannot create "Factory" snapshots (installed into the non-user directory structure). Honestly, I don't like that I paid as much money as I have for this tool (and mind you it's good), only to find out later that I really can't create something with Factory (non-user modifiable) snapshots, or control how stuff is stored on my own drives. I am a Mac user (if you didn't already figure it out), and with the amount of information and things I'm managing, organization and backup are paramount. Your manuals seriously lack and attempt to convey the big picture of where, how and why things should be stored to address these needs. The big picture would have saved me hours of having to experiment.
  3. Is the left panel of the Rack View being phased out? I ask because I know the main Library view is new. I don't want to waste time creating artwork for the panel if it's going bye-bye.
  4. How can I set Tags on instruments? snapshots? user snapshots? ALL of them just seem to be read only, and this is also unacceptable! As a user, if I cannot use your Library to search for stuff that has been properly tagged AND freely modify those tags as I see fit, then once again, you are engaging in far too much control for me to be interested in a long term relationship NI.

Okay, maybe someone has some helpful advice on how to correct the issues outlined.
