Flexible beatgrids - but no way to set a new downbeat?

With TP4, we entered the world of flexible beatgrids, but also lost the chance to set a new downbeat to the track (a new "1" on the beat). Especially when you have music produced and played by real musicians, chances are high they added or took away a beat, so the original 4/4 doesn't fit any more.

This annoys me quite so much that I like to have it fixed. For me it is a bug.

I understand that flexible beatgrid cues can be all over the place, but the total loss of downbeat possibilities is not suitable for a musician, it is available in any DAW.
