Installation K14 CE on external hard drive

Hello, NI Community!

I hope you all are doing well.

I purchased Ultimate, but shortly after, I bought a Collector's Edition upgrade. The next step is to install Ultimate and then the Collector's Edition upgrade.

I am entirely new to this world and will probably come back with more questions because I want to feel safe while entering the NI world. Before I ask questions about installing it, I have to check with you about how to install it.

CE takes around 1.5 TB of memory, so a seller from a music shop advised me to install all packages on an external hard drive. I have an Apple MacBook Pro (M2 Pro processor, 1 TB SSD) and want to buy the most compatible external SSD drive that works perfectly with M2 Pro and Komplete 14.

Do you have any experience with this? Do you know something about this? Do you have any suggestions for external drive brands?

I hope I clearly explained my request, as English is not my first language.

I Bought the following (M.2 drive isn’t the fastest available but already owned it when I bought my MacBook)

I have Komplete 14 CE, Arturia V collection, Omnisphere etc and still have over 2 TB free.

The speed is absolutely fine for me, have noticed zero problems but am not an expert in these things.

Is Lacie good? Is it good in relation with M2 Pro and Komplete 14 CE?

We can't recommend particular models or brands but Lacie is a good reliable brand. One important thing to mention, and hopefully you read this before installing your content is the external hard drive has to be formatted to APFS: Notes on Hard Drive Formats on Mac Computers
