How best to make use of stems and pattern player
Hi all,
I've purchased Traktor Pro 4, and am excited to use it….
However, I'm a little confused about how best to make use of stems and pattern player.
I watched this and am now thinking I need to purchase a midi controller, because the S4 Mk3 doesn't seem to have enough capacity for me to make full use of stems and pattern player (or have I missed something?!)
I would rather not pay £250 for a Twister unit if there's a cheaper option?
Does the Kontrol F1 do the same thing?
Is there an alternative midi controller out there for around £150 max?
Thanks community! 🙏

Alwauys check traktormaps website first :) there is a solid chance what you try to do already exists.
Thanks for sharing the Twister mapping! I use both TW and F1 a in combination.2

What are you missing on the s4 mk3 for the pattern player?
Yes, the F1 is made for stems.
I use pattern player when layer and loop a bunch of tracks. I can make my own riser effect to get excitement into what I play.

Thanks Stevan, I can see what you're proposing…..
So, would you therefore recommend I get a Kontrol F1? I've found a used one for £120…..

It really depends on what controller types you will enjoy using the most.
Twister is far better for controlling effects and stems and has 4 pages in the firmware.
F1 has limited number knobs but more buttons… This is why I use both.If you are going to use the pattern player more than stems then get the F1 and vice versa.
