Anyone have any idea why the volume on the Traktor S4 MK3 is so low?

I am using a Sure SM58 and have the volume cranked to full and it's still not loud, so any help would be gratefully appreciated!

This article may help you route your mic through Deck D to give you more control, eq and even FX on your mic input:

Are you using the mic input in the Aux channel or routing it through a track deck (e.g deck D)?

I'm using MIC C Input so the 1/4" inch located on the back of the device…. and thanks for the link I will check it out now, although my preference is to use the back, as I prefer the least amount of cables I can bump or trip over…. and thanks for the help! :)

Tried all the following and its still not very loud, so is there an additional way to turn up the volume in the preferences panel?

Not in preferences. So, you've routed your mic through Deck D, brought the gain up in that channel and have the channel fader right up? I know it's never super-loud but that's usually loud enough for me to talk over another ducked channel.

What I did was I bought a cheaper mic. Probably less impedens or something one that. That made it a bit louder.

Another idea: If you use a dynamic mic, you can use a fet head, or a cloud lifter to boost the volume.

Personally, for my gigs I almost always use a separate live mixer for my audio output to my PA. I am a typical open format wedding/party DJ with my own PA so I use something like an RCF F 6X which gives me two mic inputs with excellent mic preamps as well as a pair of stereo input channels for my controller/mixer and a spare iPad for emergency/back up if anything should go wrong. This solution, although more complex give me much greater control of mic audio.
