Plug-in for device "KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series" is missing. (Logic X since 10.8.1 and now on 11.0.1)

Hello,

I keep getting this pop up when I start Logic, as far as I know my keyboard behaves fine, but I'd rather I wasn't missing any plug-ins. What's the best option here? I have already tried reinstalling the Komplete Kontrol app via Native Access. I'd be grateful for any help.

    A screenshot of the message would be helpful, just to confirm the issue.

    This message is more about the host integration capabilities of the keyboard. You can usually get rid of this with the following:

    Make sure that Logic and Komplete Kontrol have full disk access: How to Enable Full Disk Access on macOS

    Close Logic and delete this file:

    Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs

    Note: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go

     in the menu bar and press down the Alt  key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu:

    I'll try this later and report back if it works. Thanks for the suggestions. I am on version 3.2.1.

    I'll include the screenshot next time if it's protocol but seems a bit redundant in this case. I'm a bit confused why there seems to be multiple instances of doubt in this thread about a very simple message I'm quoting.

    So I noticed full disk access wasn't enabled for both, but didn't solve issue unfortunately, however, deleting com.apple.logic.pro.cs did the trick. Thanks very much once again, all sorted.

    I can’t provide one right now, but it’s a Logic warning pop-up that literally says what I’ve quoted. There’s really not any more information a screenshot will provide.

    Fair enough. When did this issue start? Out of the blue or after some major changes?

    And how/when does it appear - opening a specific Logic project or on an empty one as well?

    Finally - did you have your S-Series set up and working on the old version of Logic and then simply upgrade to 11 right over top of the old version?

    If so (and I am not a Mac guy) but I would strip off everything to do with the NI Keyboard - Komplete Kontrol etc - and install everything clean.

    It started pretty much out of the blue, really bizarre. It wasn't after any big updates or anything like that. It's remained across two OSs and Logic versions too.

    It appears every time I start Logic basically, it's a warning directly from the app itself.

    Set up and working on the old version, yep, backed it up before upgrading. Did you mean if I totally deleted Logic and downloaded fresh from App store? I just updated rather than delete anything.

    Unfortunately, reinstallation is simply not working.

    My suggestion was to complete remove Komplete Kontrol AND all it's drivers - not to reinstall Logic.

    And - what S-Series keyboard do you have?

    If this error appears everytime you start Logic - this is a install issue and indicates that something is clearly missing and/or the Mac OS you have on there (if Sonoma - which has a history of not letting anything install unless you grant specific rights) - is holding back the required files from landing where they need to.

    Might be one for NI Support to look into as it sounds deeper than the usual fare around here.

    Yes, I took what you said as reinstalling Komplete Kontrol, which I had already done yet it's very odd it didn't install the driver. I was just putting my replies to your statements in the order.

    I have the S49 in this case, not the newest one but the model before.

    Weird one, I'll see if solution as presented by other person in this thread works.

    If you have the S49 MKII - you should really consider the prior version of Komplete Kontrol (v2.9.6) as well.

    While KK v3.2.1 is available - many of us prior MKII owners still run with this prior version.

    More features, better layout for presets and (IMHO) more stability and hopefully a better "driver" experience for you as well.

    There is no driver to install on Macs.

    What version of Komplete Kontrol are you using?

    Have you tried the steps I've posted?
