if u close the program u get like a message „flushing background tasks“ and the program freezes totally. Then u have to force quit and all the changes u made in session are lost. Therefore I sometimes make screenshots once I finished a preparation just to be sure.

This Problem is persistent for a loooong period of time and users seem to report this very often. Is there not an alternative approach to work this around that at least theres no loss of information in the program when this happened.. Maan

I regularly and manually save the collection when prepping tracks and playlists. Right-click on 'Track Collection' to access this command. You can do this right before closing Traktor, just to be sure.

You can also assign a key to this task (i use CTRL+S) by adding it to the keyboard mapping in the controller manager.

Is your collection or music saved on an external or network drive? (Or iCloud?)

Also this happens if you use .wav files. The program writes the tags before closing and this takes a long time due to the structure of the wav files. One solution is to convert the .wav files to .flac if you use windows, or to alac if you use Mac. This worked for me.

I had this problem when using "mix recorder". if i stopped the recording and then shut down traktor i got the message "flushing background tasks" because the program was writing the tags to the .wav file of the recording. Due to the fact that this was usually a large file, it took a long time. The solution in this case is to transfer the files from the recording folder to another one before closing Traktor.

'right click' with the mouse usually opens up a list of commands you can execute. do this with 'Track Collection' and then press 'save collection' or something like it.

The collection already contains all of your playlists.

You can also (and separately) export your playlists. There is a setting in Preferences where you can define what names the files get (if you export them too) and wether or not Traktor will number them, put them in separate named folders, etc.

right click → save collection is the same as what traktor does on exit. It saves everything.

I also have this issue ever since I upgraded to Pro 3. I say close and it gives me a message saying the program has stopped responding. However, I found that if I wait patiently (not very long, just a few minutes), it does close without any issues.

But I also use the right click in collection and "save collection" option, before I quit, just to be sure so I know it is saved in case it does crash, every now and then, when I am busy adding a lot of new songs.

    I hope this helps.

Can you go into the traktor setting and disable writing tags to file? I have read that should speed things up when using an external disk, but never tried it.

Might also be worth investing into a faster disk.
