I am installing my DAW and all of my plugins to a desktop PC for more CPU power. It has two internal heard drives - one with 500 Gigs and the other with 1500 Gigs of storage. While I was downloading 90 items from my Native Instruments library, everything was downloading normally until my first drive became full and the process stalled. I decided to reload all of the Native Instruments items on the second hard drive but first tried to uninstall everything that had already loaded on the first drive. It turned into a mess. Now Native Access sees a few items that it wants to repair but cant, and the majority of the items are offering the option to install but when I try to install, I get the Installation filed message every time.

Any suggestions on how to correct this mess? I normally work exclusively on my Mac so I'm not sure how to proceed.

Hello Jim, yes these kind of requests can turn out to be a mess and can lead some complicated situations.

According to the "Repair" issue, this issue is generally happening because of the wrong located or named files, here is the Knowledge Base Article that can help you with this subject: Using the Repair / Relocate All Function in Native Access

According to the "Installation Failed" issue, this also may have been caused by an outdated Native Access version.

So , to solve that, I would kindly suggest to make sure that you are using the latest version of the Native Access (3.11.1). Here is the website from where you can download the latest version of it:

    https://www.native-instruments.com/en/specials/native-access-2/

Then please restart your computer afterwards.

If the issue persists, please let me know☺️

Thanks for the quick response! I had already uninstalled many items and deleted others. Like I said, its quite a mess. I actually have been using version 3.11.1 of Native Access.

At this point, I think the best bet might be to start fresh if its possible. Do you think there's any way to just remove whatever is left manually and clean up the registry? Then, maybe Native Access will see my PC as a new computer and install accordingly?

This can be a good idea and worth to try Jim, if you don't have many things to remove, you can try removing them, restart your computer and retry to install them.

Please let me know about the results and if you need anything else, I can help you further about it☺️

Hi again deleted everything I could find related to Native Instruments on both my hard drives. I rebooted twice. Then I re-installed version 3.11.1 of Native Access. I set up the correct file paths in File Management in Settings to direct everything to my second hard drive where there's lots of room. Everything looked good in Native Access with Install buttons visible on every item and no more indications that repairs were required on any of the items.

Unfortunately, after all that, when I go to download any item, I still get the "download failed" message.

Something potentially helpful that I noticed: When I click on the three dots beside the Install button on some items such as Alicias Keys and then click on Locate, the following message pops up: "In order to successfully finish installation, please locate Alicias Keys library folder on your system." I don't know what's blocking the Downloads, but maybe Native Access thinks that it has already created a folder on my hard drive. Maybe this is part of the problem.

Do you have any ideas on how I can get this working? Everything was downloading fine yesterday until my first hard drive was full.

    Thank you
