My 4d encoder in my Maschine mk3 is broken. I know a guy who is very good at soldering but I don't know where to get the encoder. Has anyone had the same problem, and how can I get a replacement part?

Hope someone can help. Absolutely love the Maschine but this is a struggle.

I replied in the other thread but will copy-paste it here so it's it's own topic, next time dont cross-post pls.

The big knob / 4D one is a digital encoder while the smaller 8 knobs are "endless potentiometers". Encoders are easy to find and cheap. I think the one NI uses has 30 Steps per revolution, count for yourself and double-check but a different more common amount like say 20 would still work I think, I dont know the shaft size to give you an exact model but you could just measure it if you want a 1:1 exact same encoder… You'd need digital calipers.

Search for: EC11 Digital Encoder with push button, 30 Steps, D shaft.

And buy the one that looks the most like the one from NI, some examples:

    https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Encoder-Encoders-Potentiometer-Automotive-Electronics/dp/B081H9XR13

Make sure what you buy matches the legs on the original, 3 on one side and 2 on the other.

Do this repair at your own risk.
