Kontakt Instances and Aliases or Symbolic Links
Hi,
I’m on Ventura and I’m trying to organize my kontakt libraries.
I don’t want to use quick load, I’d rather use finder aliases or symbolic links.
To my surprise I find out that Kontakt 7 does not load aliases and does not load symbolic links. When I drag an alias onto a kontakt plugin, it gives me an error message that says “The format file is not supported o corrupt”. When I drag a symbolic link It Kontakt does not accept the file.
Am I doing something wrong? I can’t think of a reason why it should not load aliases or symbolic links, since quick load items are themselves aliases.
Does anybody has had such need? How did you solve this issue?
Thanks in advance
Marcello

Often there is hidden file extension for the alias or an alias is not really an app file, so won't actually load. I find having an alias to FOLDER for my NI stuff on desktop easier, then open that, open folder, drag actual element into it works. I also found in olden days on mac a symbolic link worked for folders like /boot/samples/NI going to /external/samples/NI but not so much the files inside. Your mileage may vary, obviously.
