Will the New Komplete Audio @ work as a Sound Card

Hi All,
I have a Traktor Audio 2 MK2 (Small USB sound card) which I use to DJ. It has a broken USB socket. Native Instruments no longer sell these, so I wonder if the newer Komplete Audio 2 would work as a DJ Sound Card? (i.e. OUTPUT from Traktor Pro3 to a mixer). I have two older Komplete Audio 6’s which I know will do this.

Thanks

Nope. It only has 2 channels (Left and right)

You need a soundcard with 4 channels (two stereo)

Unless you want to DJ in mono with the DJ splitter cable.

Keep in mind using two interfaces requires 3rd party app on windows (Asio4all, VoiceMeeter). It's a bit simpler on mac os. (Called aggregated audio)

But as there are two different interfaces, they might have different latency and thus cue and master can be slightly off to each other. Which makes it shite for beatmatching.

But it can also work just fine :)

It will work as an audio interface (because it's an audio interface!) but yes, you won't be able to cue using the same interface. What you could do though in theory is use the 2 as the master output and use your computer's onboard audio for the cue signal.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

I may not have explained what I was looking for correctly.

I need to take a single stereo signal from my laptop via the USB (USB Out of laptop and Into Komplete Audio 2). Using the Komplete Audio 2 as a USB sound card. Then use the 1/4" output(s) to an amplifier. All other operations can be handled internally in Traktor Pro 3.

    ADDITIONAL QUESTION
If the 1/4" outputs on the Komplete Audio 2 are stereo, could I assign one output to Main and the second to Monitor withing the Traktor Pro settings. This is how the old Traktor Audio 2 MK2 (Small USB sound card) worked

As previously explained, yes you can use it to output one stereo signal, but you won't be able to cue. It only has one stereo output.

That would work, the Traktor pro program will handle all the Cue/cross fade functions. I just need to output the Master signal via the USB to a sound card.

    Hi PK,

Thanks for your help, it's appreciated. I have just re-read these posts and realized I did not fully understand your replies. When talking about "Using Cue" I thought you were talking about "loading" a track. I now realize you were talking about using headphone to "Cue" a track.

Again, thanks for your input sorry I was not on the right page for a minute.

    😊
