Kontrol s4 mk1 to Kontrol s4 mk3

previously had an iMac with Sierra and changed to a new iMac with Sonoma.. didn’t know about the compatibility issues until too late and obviously not a compatibility fix for mk1... question I have is “ If I change my hardware to Kontrol s4 mk3 will it resolve the compatibility issue of the hardware not syncing ?” And IF it does will I lose any files when I overlay Traktor Pro 3 (currently have traktor pro3)
. Appreciate any insight.

There are no real compatibility issues with S4 Mk1. This product is EOL for many years now and support by Native Instruments has ended therefore. Last officially supported macOS was 10.11 which is about 8 years old. Even the second sucessor is now on the market for more than five years. S4 Mk1 is really old by now.

Kontrol S4 Mk3 is the current product, is still distributed by NI and is fully supported. Works with Traktor Pro 3 and current releases of macOS without any problems - at least for me.

Don‘t know what you mean with „overlaying Traktor Pro 3“? Just connect your S4 Mk3 after you got it, it will work with your existing installation.
