How to save loops as hotcues on s2 mk3?

Hi friends, looking for a lifeline…. I am running an S2 MK3 with DJ pro software through a MacBook Air. Able to manually loop no problem using the loop knob on the controller, but when I try to save an active loop as a hot cue, the controller does not seem to "see" the loop, it just sets a cue point at whatever moment in time I hit the pad. So I can't yet see how to actually save a loop -- I can manually create it but not save it. I'm sure this is a simple solution but has me totally stuck... appreciate any guidance! Thanks!

Heyo!
Have you checked this article already? I believe there might be some useful information about this topic and on how to save them!

When you say "DJ pro" do you mean "djay Pro" and not Traktor? If so then that's because djay Pro treats loops differently. I'm not sure you'll get help on this forum as the problem you're describing isn't a Traktor or controller issue, it's a limitation of djay Pro (it has little or no condition or modifier logic in it's MIDI mapping)

So you are inside an active loop, you hit a free hotcue on the controller .. then what happens?

It creates a new hotcue point, at the moment on the track that I hit the pad…. but it doesn't make the loop itself a hotcue — it's just a regular hot cue point…

Is the track actively looping when this happens?

yes, while an active loop playing. I have tried stopping it and trying to save the hot cue right at the downbeat of the beginning of the loop but it seems to do the same thing?
