Volume in Guitar Rig 7 very low

Hi all!

When I use a preset or make my own set up in guitar rig I see singel coming in, and sometimes even clipping in GR, but in my DAW (ableton) the volume is very low. I can adjust it by using a compressor to make it all up.
And when I add a stompbox distortion from GR in the chain, the volume drops even more and almost no sound can be heard.
Anyone with the golden GR lifehack?

    Hello,

i never noticed an issue that drastic, you can use the gain boost module within the chain where it´s needed. can you maybe be a bit more specific, what module produces that drastic level decrease.

The gain and the treble gain modules are increasing the volume indeed. But the signal/volume should be acceptable also without the boost modules.

All the other distortion modules really decrease the volume and makes the sound dirty and unusable.

i just use the volume knob on each module normally, of course you then drive the module after that one and just increase distortion maybe so the last module is the one you need to raise the level for that issue.

I place the distortion always before the reverb and delay (last three of my chain). The only volume knob at the end of the chain I can use is the one of the distortion module.

That's the weird thing. I have tried all kind of ways to increase volume, but it looks like GR is not passing the volume through to ableton.

ok - never tried it in ableton, just in maschine and cubase,. there it works like you would expect, i can maybe try it later in ableton live lite

I had this same issue when importing presets. It added the Loop Machine Pro to the effects loop which drastically lowered the volume. If this is in your loop try removing it to see if it helps.

    Hi Thyztwizta,

Thanks for your reply. I don't have the loop machine in my line. So that's not the issue. I also noticed that every track with GR7 in it eats a lot of CPU. Also when the track is idle (no music playbook etc). So something is wrong.

Still hoping for the best answer/sollution from NI.
