since maschine 2.15 my reload last project doesn't work

rather the icon in preferences is checked or not it does not start with my last loaded project. i can of course go to recent files and pull it up but thought that was weird. I know this isn't happening to everyone, i also have maschine on my laptop and it works like it should there so i'm thinking its something with my desktop. I upgraded to 2.15.1 and it behaves the same way. any help would be appreciated
