How to connect both DJM mixer and traktor F1

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding my current setup and have trouble to connect my F1 with my mixer through traktor in order order to have a hybrid setup.

Here is the setup:

  • 1 DJM 800 mixer with 2 CDJs 2000
  • 1 Traktor F1 that I want to use to add effect/layers
  • 1 scarlett audio

What I tried and did not work

  • Connect the mixer to the scarlett
  • Connect the scarlett to traktor on deck A via USB port, which then should send an input to traktor. This kind of works as traktor recognize the input. So the signal is received but nothing appears on the deck A (but in the setting I can see the input deck A is receiving a signal), then I cannot sync my F1 and my mixer so that my effect/samples are sync to the tracks running on the mixer.
  • Connect the F1 to traktor on deck D via USB, which then should send an output to the mixer. This is working as I can hear the effects on one channel of the mixer.

So my question is: how can Traktor recognize my mixer on deck A and define it as master so that my F1 on deck D is synced?

Thanks a lot in advance for your help!

You don't want to play tracks in Traktor, you want to use it as an effects box?

Send live input to traktor, add effects and back to the mixer? AFAIK the DJM does not have send/return. Edit: I'm an idiot, the DJM has a master send/return :))

You have to set the deck up to be live input. You can press on the Deck Letter [A] after you set up the routing (sounds like you already did that)

But live input does not have BPM detection, so you can't sync it to another deck or effects.

I don't know about CDJ 2000, but 2000nx2 have the abilty to connect to Traktor via HID and you could use them to control deck A and B. Then you have everything inside traktor, can use all the effects and sync with each other. Of course you would need an interface with 3 or 4 stereo outputs.

What scarlet do you have? Or rather how many in and out channels does it have?
