Traktor S2 Mk.3 MIC level issue

Hiya

When NI fixed the MIC not working at all in Traktor Pro 3 it seemed to be working ok and then intermittently the level became intolerably loud and working fine sometimes. Now it seems to be stuck on high output.

With nothing else running when I press the MIC button I hear a really noticeable hissing sound and at Live gigs with MIC active there are massive feedback issues, in fact it was feeding back at my last gig with a mic connected but switched off!

MIC gain is on its lowest setting and I'm following all the common sense rules when operating a mic relative to speaker positioning. Was fine until recently. Have tried started a fresh settings.tsi and checked my soundcards to no avail..

It happens with three different microphones. Just to clarify: when I press the MIC button I hear loud unacceptable hiss even without a microphone being switched on, when a microphone is active the level is really really high and cant be used in a Live situation through rig for instance, and even my studio monitor (tested at low levels to protect my drivers and eardrums from damage). Plus it was working fine with all my microphones, as I've intimated ;)
