Maschine2 - Pad Note & Waiting for Launch Pattern

Hello Community. I have 2 questions...^^

---------------------------------------

First, I looked for a while to change the note of a pad (sampler).

The only way I found to modify the note is to "Tune" in "Pitch/Envelope", but I would like to modify the note precisely. (C3,C#3,D3...)

I can change the note by entering in "Keyboard" mode and change the "Root Note", but this does not change the Pad note, and I still have to manually edit the Note in "Keyboard" mode. Strange, I didn't understand the usefulness of changing the Root Note.

---------------------------------------

And my last question is about Pattern launching method.

I know isnt possible for now, but (like many of us) i looking for trigger Pattern like Ableton Live. I would like the Pattern to wait for the end of the current Pattern to begin.

Scene can wait for starting in Sync drop down menu, but no Pattern. 😥 Add this feature please ! 🙏

---------------------------------------

Otherwise, I'm really happy with my new Maschine Jam and the Machine2. It's very good hardware and I'm considering changing my entire setup to Native Instrument hardware.

Sorry for my bad language, I'm French. ^^

What do you mean by "precisely"? The tune knob is precise in the sense that if you transpose a sample 2 semis and the original is a C then you end up with a D.

Do you want to control which note is triggered when you press a Pad in Pad Mode? If that's the case change it here:

Tune is doing it precisely. It moves the pitch in semitones, therefore all the steps will move your note up 1. If your sample is C3, 1 semitone will change it to C#3, 2 semitone to D3, and so on and so forth.

The root note in keyboard mode utility is to “change” the keyboard itself (and as you say will not definitely change the original sample note). Its usefulness is tight with the scale mode: if you want your pads to play only in a predetermined scale, you must change the root note and the scale. Let’s say you want the pads to play only in E minor: you set the root note to E and chose the scale as minor. From now the pads will play only E minor notes, without “wrong” notes in the middle of them.

If you leave the scale to chromatic, changing the root note will only shift what note will be played by every pad, but leaving all the notes available.

    Pattern’s launch quantization…welcome to the club… it’s something users are asking since…forever…

NI is “gathering information” now, with a call to vote made step by step (they asked about different aspects some months ago, then closed the voting and opened a new more specific vote call on the most voted feature in the first round).

Does this mean we will really see something coming? And that it will be before arthritis will not allows our fingers to play the Maschine pads? Who knows… I suppose we just have to hope…

If you want to change your entire setup to NI, keep this in consideration…and make some good researches beforehand

Hello @LostInFoundation , thanks for your reply.

I will continue to manipulate the Keyboard mode.

    And thanks for the links.
