@Impulse What about in Komplete Kontrol in standalone? Does the key work there?

If you use MIDI monitor, without any music software runing (not even Komplete Kontrol), what does it show? Is there activity on this key? How to Monitor the Input of a MIDI Controller

If it's only happening in Logic, it's probably a wrong setup in Logic, there are so many options that sometimes users set them up by accident. The easiest/fastets way to fix it then is to reset Logic to default by deleting this file: Macintosh HD/Users/Username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist

Note: the User Library folder is hidden. To access it, click on Go in the menu bar and press down the Alt key. You'll now find the Library entry in the menu:

This will reset Logic to default so it means all your custom settings will be gone.

thanks for the answer,it’s really odd but logic sees the midi input but still it won’t play any notes and why is that one key lit up brighter on kongrol ? I’m really stumped!

@Impulse Have you followed the steps above or not? What does it show in MIDI monitor?

yes followed the steps, also my midi monitor and logic are seeing the midi message but no notes playing,it’s almost like that 1 key is muted

And deleting the Logic plist file didn't fix it? That's what usually fixes it. If it's only happening in Logic, it's definitely an issue with some settings in there.

it’s not playing anything outboard either, plugged into my virus, hydra synth and argon and nothing sound wise,it’s odd why the blue backlight in the unit is lit up brighter behind that key, almost indicating a fault with that key

Well, that's why I asked if it was also happening in Komplete Kontrol in standalone. Have you checked? How is the keyboard connected to your hardware synths? With a MIDI 5 Pin cable directly from the keyboard?

it’s by usb c to the Mac Studio,I will run more tests after work and post the results, thanks for the help😁

Maybe you should try removing and re-add the keyboard in Mac Preferences or where it is in Mac ? Or check for something other Midi settings reset in Mac system !?

Ok but then how are your synths connected to the Mac Studio?

straight into the Mac for any that have software attached ie:modal app, access vst and NI komplete and then any that don’t have software go through my mio xl and are triggered via 5pin midi.

Its definitely a hardware issue as it happens on mac and pc with logic and acid respectively, also no matter what octave I’m in it always plays D2 whilst all other keys play correctly, also for the key at fault there is no midi on/off signal but it reads the aftertouch.

Ok, for troubleshooting purposes, can you reproduce the issue without the MIO interface, with the keyboard either connected to the computer or directly connected from the MIDI 5Pin out of the keyboard to your synth?

If the MIDI monitor "sees" these notes going out of the keyboard and the issue is not present in Komplete Kontrol in standalone there is probably something going wrong either with the MIDI interface and/or the DAWs.

it’s the same if just plugged into the Mac or pc with nothing else,no matter which computer, program or configuration it doesn’t change.

It’s got to be a faulty key bed.

    What are your thoughts?

I'm confused, what happens when you monitor the MIDI with no music software at all? How to Monitor the Input of a MIDI Controller

If you hit this particular key, do you get note on/note off? Do you get all levels of velocity?
