Komplete Kontrol MK2, Kontakt 7, and Cakewalk/Bandlabs disappearing audio
Does anyone have this problem?:
I insert Komp Kontrol or Kontakt 7 (or K6) into Cakewalk by Bandlabs as a soft synth, I choose a sound from...say Etherial Earth, Hybrid Keys, Hypha, etc., it plays fine...
I hit the record button (any record button, midi or audio) and all sound from Komp Kontrol, and/or Kontakt 6/7 disappears...OR...I do record say...midi but as soon as I hit the space bar to stop the recording, the next time I play my keys (KK MK2 S88) no audio...no sound...nothing... AND nothing records...no audio...no sound...sometimes no midi.
I can use KK or Kontakt as a stand alone but that's not what I use it for or how I record with it so...useless.
What's more is now that I inset KK or Kontakt as a soft synth, it's crashing Cakewalk and I lose everything I haven't saved yet...sometimes.
My system is very clean, 8 cores i7, 24 gigs DDR3, etc. and no other software does this other than NI so I guess it's a conflict with CWbyBL and NI.
Driving my crazy so I just don't use it (KK K7/6) but I would really like to cuz...well...I friggin bought it...lord.
Answers for this stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Heya BIF,
I searched and searched and found this:
UPDATE: I the EastWest forums someone set us straight. In Preferences > MIDI, simply uncheck "Zero Controllers When Play Stops" and "MIDI Event Chase on Play" and CW will no longer require a CC reset every time.
Here: https://discuss.cakewalk.com/index.php?/topic/3741-how-to-assign-mod-wheel-expression-pedal/
I don't know why, but my KK S88 MK2 sets the mod wheel as a volume control by default when using the KK software...in Cakewalk...
uh...okay.
So, every time I started a track (midi and audio), chose an audio like say, Hybrid Keys (etc.) the only time I would get the audio would be initially but as soon as I would hit "record" the audio disappeared. It took me a while to figure out that I would have to roll the mod wheel full on...then full off for the audio to come back...but still no recording.
I found the instructions posted above on this topic...or one like it...in 2019 on a Cakewalk forum when I did a Google search like:
"Komplete Kontrol S88 MK2 conflict with Cakewalk audio mod wheel issue".
This menu: Preferences > MIDI
And these commands: "Zero Controllers When Play Stops" and "MIDI Event Chase on Play"
Only appears in an open project when opening the "preferences" menu.
This seems to have fixed this issue...I hope. A very weird journey as this is the only controller/software I have had an issue like this, with and I'm not sure it's completely over as when I insert KK into Cakewalk as a soft synth it sometimes crashes Cakewalk and if I haven't saved my progress, I lose it.
I'm currently talking with Cakewalk about this as well so I'll see how that goes.
So; Dear Cakewalk and NI...PLAY NICE or I'll have to separate you!
Cheers, P
