New Mac Studio M2 + Sonoma...what actually works?

As mentioned, I got a new Mac, and was very excited until I started doing some research on what's compatible with what. I wanted to buy the Komplete 14 Ultimate package, but it looks like I'd have to downgrade the OS to Ventura? Also, would that even be compatible with the latest version of Pro Tools Ultimate? I have a couple big projects and I need to get something going!

Any help would be appreciated!

"Works" is subjective term and is really on the user to manage.

"Supported" is another (much better) term and means that Product A has been subjected to the usual NI Q&A process, the product has been determined to work correctly under Sonoma and is now eligible for standard support (should a user need that at some point).

In the NI world - what is actually "supported" is found here:

macOS 14 Sonoma Compatibility Statement – Native Instruments (native-instruments.com)

What you want to take a chance with - is up to you.

If it were me AND I was a Mac user AND I had big projects to do - I would ensure my OS is not a liability.

Ventura would be my first (and only) stop at this point.

Thanks for the answer! I decided to roll back to Ventura as you advised, and everything seems to be sort of working...I say sort of because there are some bugs here and there I'm working through, but working for the most part!

You would have been better off sticking with Sonoma in my opinion. Apart from a graphics bug in Komplete Kontrol in Logic which is already fixed on the whole I find everything works fine in Sonoma and Ventura wasn’t without its own problems anyway. Sonoma also seems better optimised for M series processors and makes better use of the GPUs, not surprising as Apple have had longer to work on building it around the new chips.
